The Fallacy of Tongues, Part I

Sunday the sermon series continues with the first of a two part look at 1 Corinthians 14:1-25. Paul has been contending with the abuse of spiritual gifts and the elitist behavior of those within the Corinthian church. He has previously demonstrated that each gift is valuable, thereby each member of the church, for the furtherance of the Gospel. Paul has reminded them of the necessity of a Christ like love being needed to make any gift beneficial. He has challenged them to refocus on Christ’s love for them so that they may love each other likewise. Paul now turns to deal with the abuse and failure of the people in relation to the gift of tongues.
