Loving Judgment, Part II

Sunday, Pastor Doug continued into the second half of 1 Corinthians.  Paul is lovingly admonishing the Corinthian church for its failure to deal with blatant and open sin within its congregation.  When a people have untied as a church, a cooperate body of professed believers in Christ proclaiming to live for Christ, there is an accountability in place. One who errs cannot be ignored, but must be invited to repentance of sin and a reaffirming of one’s commitment to Christ. Discipline is not punishment, but an opportunity to grow and learn. We all need it, but no one wants it. When we cannot or do not discipline ourselves to live, walk, and reflect Christ, we need faithful brothers and sisters in Christ to help. We share a commitment to Christ and to each other through Christ.
