BK’S KORNER
Today is the eclipse.  I will certainly walk outside and see what I can see.  I know the eclipse is getting a lot of attention. I was asked a couple of weeks ago what I thought about it as it approached.  It surprised me as I realized that I didn’t have any special thoughts about it, especially as it relates to God, His kingdom or His coming.  I think it is just an eclipse. Something that happens in a well-ordered universe that is constantly in well-defined motion.

Remember Y2K? The world was going to end. Remember just a few years ago when the Mayan calendar ended and so the world was going to end as well?  Remember the Blood Moons? Popular pastors wrote books and entire Bibles studies about it.  I must admit that I got pretty excited about those! Nothing.  At this stage of my life, I am much more surrendered to the sovereignty of God. I know that God is in control and when He says it is time, well then, it will be time and it will happen. 

I also know that I belong to Him so whenever it happens, I will be exactly where God wants me to be.  As far as an urgency to get the gospel out. In case you haven’t noticed, I have had that for quite a while now. This is what should happen if you really think that the eclipse is some kind of sign.  It should birth in us an urgency to make sure those around us have heard and understand the Gospel so that they might be saved. 

If you have not already picked up your new Church Directory, you can do so at any time. I think they turned out very well. 

Big shout out and Thank You to all who helped make the Embrace Grace Baby Showers a huge success.  I am so proud of how you all represented our church. The attendance was above my expectations, so thank you all.

Ladies, please plan to attend the simulcast this weekend. I am certain you will be blessed. 

I am so very grateful for everything that all of you are doing through our church in the name of the Lord. Continue to pray that God will use us to saturate our community with His Gospel.
