BK’S KORNER
If you love professional baseball and have never been to a minor league game, you should really go to one. It is a much more intimate setting than the giant MLB ballparks. There are usually fun gimmicks or games that are used to attract and entertain spectators. The fans are, in my opinion much more passionate about their teams.

As a kid we lived for many years on an Air Force Base in Hawaii.  We used to go watch the Hawaii Islanders all the time. The Islanders were a minor league team for the San Francisco Giants. I remember going to stand along the wall in the outfield during batting practice to catch fly balls. There was always a group of kids just roaming the stadium.  I clearly remember standing in the tunnel where the players walked onto the field and getting them to sign my baseball glove.

One time, they had an exhibition game there between the San Francisco Giants and one of the Professional teams from Japan.  It was a matchup between Willie Mays and a Japanese player named Sadaharu Oh, who was their hitting star at the time.  Those were some great memories that just resurfaced in my mind over the weekend.

There were a lot of great things about my growing up years in Hawaii that I really didn’t appreciate at the time.  Sometimes I think our lives with God are the same.  He just blesses and blesses but we really don’t recognize the blessings until much later in life. Take time to look closely at your life and see the blessings that God is pouring out upon you.  In doing that our hearts will be filled with Thanksgiving. We will truly bless and praise God for all that He does for us.  Let’s not wait for years to appreciate the blessings God is giving us today.

Who’s Your One?  During this season let us invite people to come with us to church. Let’s not just invite people to come to church, but let’s invite them to “Come Sit with Us”.  Come Sit With Me is a churchwide emphasis to remind and encourage us to invite others so that their lives can be changed.  Use this time to invite absentee Sunday School members.  Invite family. Invite friends. Invite your “One” to come sit with you in Sunday School and worship!

I know that not everyone knows all the conversations that I have with people during the week.  However, I want you to know this: God is at work in and through our church.  It is only a matter of time before you will also begin to see fruit of His hands on people’s lives.

Continue to pray and invite. Pray for your church. Ask God to use us, because He is and He will.

Now is the Time.
Who’s Your One?
Come sit with Me.
Do Not Delay.

Love and Blessings
