BK’S KORNER
Yesterday was a very uplifting day here at The First Baptist Church. It is so good to just sense the Spirit of unity and joy here in the fellowship. The Worship has been good and beneficial for helping us to focus on Christ during this holiday season. Sunday evening’s presentation of “The Christmas Secret” was wonderful. The Taste of Christmas which followed was filled with Christian fellowship. It was simply an inspirational day in the Lord.
I want to compliment all who had a part in “The Christmas Secret” presentation. Everyone did such a wonderful job. I have heard so many times over the last few weeks that we have a lot of talented people here in our church. Indeed we do. We also have so many people who are just willing to help. Which was definitely the case for all of yesterdays activities. So many people behind the scenes were necessary for the success of yesterdays happenings.
I hope you made an attempt to attend your Sunday School Christmas Party. One of the perks of being the pastor is that you get invited to ALL of them! The fellowship is tremendous. It is a great time to talk to people outside of the church environment. It helps in building real relationships. Relationships are what builds a church body and establishes unity.
Our focus during this Holiday Season has been to make sure we set our hearts and minds on Christ. A couple of good ways to ensure that Christ is center in your Christmas celebration is to join us for our Christmas week services. December 24 at 5:30 pm we will have our Christmas Eve Candlelight Lord’s Supper service. This is always a meaningful time and certainly causes us to think about why we celebrate Christmas.
You can also join us at 8 am on Christmas morning for our Family Gathering. This is just a very short and informal gathering. We sing a few Christmas carols and I share a thought. You are welcome to gather with our church family!
Continue to pray. This is the key to the life of our church.
