BK’S KORNER

You know who is better than a mighty warrior? One who is better than a conquering hero? Proverbs tells us. “He who is slow to anger is better than mighty, and he who rules his spirit than he who takes a city.” Proverbs 16:32.

The man who can control his anger is better than a mighty warrior. In other words, “flying off the handle” is wrong. Waiting a long time and then finally boiling over is sinful. Just walking around mad all the time is wicked. You get the picture. Anger is wrong and it is sinful.

How about ruling our spirit? The man who can control his emotions better than the man who takes a city. In other words, it not just about controlling our anger it is about ruling all of our emotions. 

Only in Christ can we begin to control our spirit and keep lid on our anger. We have to want to be like him. That becomes our righteousness. Our righteousness determines whether not God eyes are upon us. It is our determining factor in whether or not His ears are open to our prayers. I want to have that kind or righteousness. The kind where I am on praying ground!

Be slow to anger.
Control your spirit.
Pray.
