BK’S KORNER
Well, here we go! The first Bridge Builder Article of 2025. My resolution for 2025 is to stay ahead of the game! I felt like I was behind all of last year. It was like everything just snuck up on me. In the past, the norm for many pastors was to take their day off on Mondays. I understand why. It is because Sunday can be very draining. However, whenever I took off on Mondays, I always felt like I was behind the entire week. Therefore, I have always taken my day off on Friday. You see for me it is important to get off to a fast and early start. I need to get something done on Mondays. I need to accomplish something immediately.
I really need to pick up the pace as a pacesetter in this church. We need to get some momentum going early. A great way to start that would be Wednesday evening at 6:30 pm here at The First Baptist Church. We will once again be hosting the Southeast Texas Baptist Association Focus on Evangelism Rally. The preacher will be Dr. Herb Reavis. Dr. Reavis is a dynamic preacher. He has an energy that will inspire and motivate us. Leading in Worship will be the Whisnants. They are a family that are sure to be a blessing to us in their singing. Please attend.
I am also very excited about our new Bible Study opportunities beginning this month. Mark Mannino will begin teaching Prophecy 101 on Sunday evenings. The course will begin at 6 pm each Sunday evening. They will meet in the Adult 9 Sunday School classroom.
I am also very excited about a new teaching that I will begin on Wednesday Evenings at 6:30 pm in the Sanctuary. It is a study I am developing called “All I really Need to Know is….” This study will teach what I believe are essentials for Christians to know. I hope you will attend and be blessed.
As we move into the new year we will be expecting God to do something. We will be watching for it to happen. We will live like we are expecting it.
As the song we sang a couple of weeks ago said, “I just feel like something good is about to happen…. And this could be the day.”
Have a great week. Stay warm. Stay healthy.
Love and Blessings
