Why A Savior? Part II

Are you loved? Sunday we will continue our look at the question, “Why a Savior?” Romans 5:6-11 will be the main portion of the text we will focus on. Paul throughout his writing in Romans demonstrated the fullness of our sin and the just consequences we must face. “For all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God.” (Romans 3:23) “For the wages of sin is death.” (Romans 6:23) “For by works of the law no human being will be justified in his sight.” (Romans 3:20) “those who are in the flesh cannot please God.” (Romans 8:8) We find ourselves in an utterly hopeless state being unable to not sin, make recompense for our sin, and live the law in a way to justify ourselves before God. What will humanity do? What will you do? We have found ourselves exposed and caught in the trap of our cosmic treason we have launched against the Creator. We say we love him, but our actions demonstrate we despise him. He, God, should despise us, but ……. We need a savior whether we want one or not. Why would God provide us a Savior?
