BK’S KORNER
One of my favorite Hymns is, Great is They Faithfulness. I am sure you can sing the Chorus in your head:
Great is Thy faithfulness! Great is Thy faithfulness!
Morning by morning new mercies I see;
All I have needed, Thy hand hath provided;
Great is Thy faithfulness, Lord, unto me.

The words to this chorus come from the writings of Jeremiah in Lamentations 3:22-23.  The thing about it is, Jeremiah isn’t actually celebrating some great act of deliverance by God.  In fact, he is looking at a Jerusalem that has been destroyed.  The wall was broken down. Homes were burned. People captured and being taken to Babylon as slaves. The Temple was also in ruins. Everything of value taken from it and carried back to Babylon to be used in pagan worship.

In spite of all of this. In spite of Jeremiah’s heartbreak at seeing this unfold, he still found it in his spirit to praise God for His faithfulness.  To remind himself and others about God’s great mercies. I love 2 Timothy 2:13 which says, “If we are faithless, He remains faithful;…”

I often go back and forth between God and the world, as we talked about yesterday.  I often live like I don’t know God.  I am a failure at every turn, but God is always faithful. He is always true to His word and promises. Even in those times that God has to allow me to suffer some consequences of my actions, or times when He must discipline me. Even during those times, God is faithful and merciful. God is merciful and faithful always. We need to remember that.

Great is Thy Faithfulness is a song to be sung and a truth to be declared during good times and bad. It is a reminder that He is faithful!

Hope you all have a great week.
Come!
Who’s your One?
Pray for the lost.
