BK’S KORNER
I let my dog in the house last night. I don’t do that. Big dogs stay outside in my world. He’s never been inside the house.  He has survived outside for the last 6 years or so.  Remember that last freeze, it got very cold for an extended period. He survived.  However, he’s starting to get old and so am I. I’m becoming more compassionate I guess in my old age, so this was a sort of a trial run to see if I can let him in this week when it gets colder.  Remember, he’s never been in the house. I thought he would never settle down and find a place to sleep. I had put a large dog bed down for him in the bedroom which he eventually did lie on. This was a whole new world for him. He had to put his nose on everything. Look at everything. The tile and laminate floors were also somewhat of a challenge for him and his quick moves. Every time someone moved, he had to be right there to see what was happening.

My daughter told me that he would get used to it quickly.  Really, I don’t want him to get used to it, but I think she is probably right.  He will and rather quickly.  I said all of that to talk about something we talked about at the Sunday School conference this past weekend. People who are unchurched are not comfortable in the church. If we desire to reach people with the gospel, in most cases there will have to be a comfort level with us if we want them to hear us. The better people know you, the more comfortable they are around you, the more likely they are to respond to your message. The more church people that someone is around the more comfortable they will be when in the presence of church people. So, look for ways to mix your unchurched friends with your church friends in environments outside of the church. Let the comfort level grow so they can eventually hear and respond to the message.

Just a few updates and reminders. First, we will be collecting soup and cereal for the Ministerial Alliance. We will collect through the end of February. We are also collecting items to make chili to give away at the First Saturday.  Please look at the list and see what your SS Department is supposed to bring.  If you are not involved in a SS Department then bring anything on the list!

We are planning to take our Pre Teens (grades 3-6) to camp this Summer. If you are an adult and would like to go as a sponsor, then please let me know.  Be sure to stay tuned for more details.  Right now, the dates we are looking at is June 16-19.

Renew praying for your “One”.
Pray for the Lost.
Lord, open their hearts to your gospel.

Love you all
