YOUTH MINISTER UPDATE

While we were unable to gather for our Picnic in the Park this week, the heart behind that event is still worth holding onto. As believers, we are called to live in such a way that others can clearly see Christ in us—not just in organized events, but in our everyday lives.

1 Peter 3:15 reminds us to “always be prepared to give an answer…for the hope that is in you.” That verse carries an important assumption: people should be able to see something different in us before they ever ask about it. Our lives should reflect a distinct hope, peace, and joy that naturally leads others to wonder what sets us apart. The question for us is simple but challenging—would someone who watches our life see enough of Christ to ask about Him?

Even though plans changed this week, we still have a great opportunity coming up to be together and be visible in our community. We’ll be attending Faith and Family Night at Port Neches Riverfest on April 29 to see Big Daddy Weave. This will be a fun night, but also a chance to be present, intentional, and encouraging to those around us.

Looking ahead, don’t forget about Purpose Week Camp, coming June 22–26. This is one of the most impactful weeks of the summer, and we want every student to have the opportunity to be part of it. The cost is $220, and the registration deadline is May 24. Be sure to get signed up soon.

Let’s continue to live in a way that makes the hope of Christ visible to everyone around us.

In Christ,

Cody Dowden
