YOUTH MINISTER’S UPDATE
YOUTH MINISTER’S UPDATE
Church Family,
This week, BK’s message from Jeremiah 29 reminded us of a powerful truth: we are called to live faithfully in the place God has planted us, fully present in the world, yet not shaped by it. The exiles were instructed to build, plant, seek the welfare of the city, and live intentionally among the people around them. They were not to withdraw, nor were they to conform. They were to represent the Lord right where they were.
That same calling applies to us today. Being “in the world but not of the world” is not passive, it requires intentionality. If God has placed us in our neighborhoods, workplaces, schools, and communities, then He has done so with purpose. We are not simply to coexist; we are called to shine. And that shining happens most clearly when we intentionally share the hope of the gospel.
This is why we are investing in evangelism training with our youth. Over the coming weeks, our students will be learning how to clearly and confidently share their faith in ways that connect with their generation. Our goal is not simply to give them information, but to cultivate boldness rooted in truth. We want them to understand that their faith is not meant to stay within church walls, but to be lived out and spoken with love in everyday life.
Our confidence in this effort is grounded in Romans 1:16: “For I am not ashamed of the gospel, for it is the power of God for salvation to everyone who believes.” The power is not in our eloquence, personality, or strategy, it is in the gospel itself. When we speak it faithfully, God works through it powerfully.
As a church family, may we model what it looks like to live distinctly while loving deeply. May our students see adults who are unashamed of Christ, confident in His Word, and intentional about sharing the good news. God has placed us here for such a time as this. Let’s faithfully represent Him where we are.
In Christ,
Cody
