Praying for High School Seniors

Praying for High School Seniors

It is graduation time once again. Across the United States, thousands of high school seniors will be graduating and moving on to the next phase of their lives. This past Sunday FBC was able to celebrate with several seniors among us, equip them with a study Bible, and look forward to what the Lord has for them. However, our responsibility does not end now that they have graduated. We must continue to pray for them. Here are a few ways we can pray for graduating seniors.

First, let us pray that those who are graduating from high school would come to faith in Christ. It is no secret or surprise that there are many across this nation who do not know Christ Jesus. There are those even in our community that do not know Christ. So, we must continue to pray that these graduating seniors would hear the gospel and come to saving faith in Christ.

Secondly, let us pray that these seniors would be bold for Christ.

In the coming weeks and months, thousands of seniors will make their way to colleges, the workforce, different countries, and beyond. It will be a great opportunity for all of them as they encounter people that they would not have encountered before. This will be a great opportunity, for those who follow Christ, to share the gospel with their new friends, peers, co-workers, and acquaintances. Let us pray that they would not shrink back from telling any person of the great love of God found in Christ Jesus.

Finally, let us pray for their wisdom. If you think back to when you were just finishing school as a young person, then you understand how great the need for wisdom is. As these seniors go into the world they will interact with various new people, worldviews, ideologies, and more. Some will be more prepared than others to engage with all that will come their way. So, let us pray that God will give them the wisdom to discern what is good, right, and worthy of admiration as they move ahead in life.

Many seniors will leave Bridge City as they move on in life. Though they may move far from us we can still pray for them. We can pray for them when they are away at work. We can pray for them while they are away at college. Wherever they go, whatever they do, let us continue to pray for them.
