WAIT ON THE LORD

WAIT ON THE LORD . . .

Psalm 37:7 “Be still before the Lord and wait patiently for him; fret not yourself . . .”.

Psalm 27:14 “Wait for the Lord; be strong and take heart and wait for the Lord.”

I have found myself at a place where I am seeing prayers answered in the life of my family. Answers that I and other friends and family have prayed for quite some time. I know there are many of you who have gone through this in your life, perhaps many times. I have heard testimonies of people saying they prayed for someone’s salvation for 50 years and then it happens.

As you know, when God starts answering according to His will, He starts changing everything surrounding that person you have prayed for.  When someone makes bad decisions, which I have been guilty of in my life, it affects everyone around them who loves them.

Therefore, when God starts answering prayers and making changes in the lives of our loved one, they start making different choices, which affects everyone who loves them.

Still, even with the wonderful things happening and all the positive changes we see around that loved one we can still get impatient.  We can still step out there and try to make things happen quicker than we are seeing them. We can still try to go ahead of God and fix things that we think needs fixing.  We can do this even after witnessing some of the greatest miracles we have seen in our lifetime.

So here I go again thinking I must help God.  I think I know how everything should happen, but God let me know in a very strong way to stop, continue to be still, I know better than you do how this needs to happen, I love you and your loved ones, and I know what is best for all.

I know that I am never going to get everything exactly right.  I must keep trusting the Lord and doing the tasks He gives me to do.

I thank God for His loving-kindness and His patience with me.  I thank God that He is in control.  I thank Him for the gift of faith he has given me and the chance to learn to use that faith.

Hebrews 11:1 “Now faith is confidence in what we hope for and assurance about what we do not see.”

That is faith!  Not easy, but it does make things possible! He is a “you thought I was finished but I’m not” kind of God.

For His Glory,
Debbie
