THE BODY OF CHRIST…THE CHURCH

THE BODY OF CHRIST…THE CHURCH

We have another Taste of Christmas in the books for 2023.  This past Sunday evening we had a glorious celebration, and it couldn’t have happened without each part of the body using their special gifts and talents to make it happen.

As always, the decorations were beautiful and so fitting for the occasion.  I always admire and look forward to walking in the Family Life Center and being overwhelmed with the beauty and all the little extras that our gifted decorators come up with each year.

Not to mention the food!!  Everything from chili to beans and taco soup, from Mexican food to some down-home southern chicken and dumplings, cake, and cookies galore, the always favorite chips and dips, and let’s not forget the wassail and the ever-popular coffee punch, IT HAS ICE CREAM IN IT!!

Our singers and entertainment were awesome, and I am so thankful for everyone involved in the music ministry at FBCBC.  Whatever they are asked to do, they step up to the plate and knock it out of the ballpark.  Some were true characters in our version of the 12 Days of Christmas, while others shared their beautiful singing voices with us.  We had one of our members take double-duty last night – Did you guess who Santa was?

And what about all our wonderful church members who do the hard work of setting up and tearing down at the end of the evening?

And a special shout-out to those who just do everything!  Decorating, setting up and tearing down, cooking, singing, or playing instruments.

Very thankful for all who attended and let us know how much they appreciated the work that went into the evening.

Everyone has their part in the body of Christ.  I am so thankful for our church (the body) here at FBCBC.  There is so much love flowing through our church, and everyone steps up and works together in any endeavor we have.

I Corinthians 12:27 “Now you are the body of Christ, and each one of you is a part of it.”

I Corinthians 13:13 “And now these three remain; faith, hope and love.  But the greatest of these is love.”

The love is growing, this shows through our cooperation with each other in our work.  We are all growing spiritually!  I am thankful for our Pastor who is leading us into this love and spiritual growth!

Merry Christmas to you all!  May God bless each one of you!

For His Glory,

Debbie
