THAT’S WHY I BELIEVE

THAT’S WHY I BELIEVE . . .
Would you all allow me to reminisce in my article this week?  Last year around this time our church performed the musical/drama, More Than Just a Man.  It seems much longer than a year ago.

The song we opened with this past Sunday was a song from this musical.  It was actually, the final song of the night.

We had practiced for this musical for months before the performance and so many dedicated many hours of their time to this endeavor for the Lord.  Below is an excerpt from my article after the performance.

“God worked miracles bringing all of these together who worked on this project. There was planning, scheduling, directing and leading. There was sewing of costumes and props to building of sets. The singers in the chorus started practicing last summer and were asked to lay down their books and sing from memory and that made us feel every word we sang. The actors gave themselves up to these characters and everyone was very believable and they moved us. We could not have done any of this without our engineers in the sound booth.  They worked through sound and lighting challenges and made it all happen. Our stage managers were phenomenal and worked hard in so many areas and did it without ever seeing the entire musical. We had child care workers who took care of some of the cast’s children while rehearsing, if needed. And so many more worked behind the scenes making this all come together”.

It was a great success because the Lord was glorified, the gospel went out and hearts were touched.  I believe the heart of everyone involved was touched.

That is why when we sang “That’s Why I Believe” this past Sunday, the words resonated.  Our church always steps up to the plate whenever we see God working in a certain area.  We trust God and we go for it in every area of our church to help spread love and the gospel message of who Jesus is and what He did for every single one of us.

From Vacation Bible School, to 1st Saturday, to purchasing items when someone is in need, to helping our youth attend any function the Lord is opening doors for, to using our talents for performances such as the one mentioned here to bring the gospel to others through music, etc.

I thank the Lord that I am a member of FBCBC and am honored to serve this church.  Thanks for letting me go down memory lane for a moment, not to live in the past, but to remind myself and all of us, that God works so mightily in every area of our church.

We are thriving at The First Baptist Church of Bridge City, Texas!! Praise the Lord!!
It is all For His glory,
Debbie
