Sing and make music from your heart to the Lord

With psalms, hymns, and songs from the Spirit. Sing and make music from your heart to the Lord. Ephesians 5:19

Last night we held our Annual Night of Worship at FBCBC. The Lord poured out His blessings on everyone involved; our singers, instrumentalists, sound guys, and our guests in attendance. We could hear the congregation singing and it encouraged us all.

We formed a choir from several churches in the area from Bridgepoint Fellowship Bridge City, Faith Baptist Vidor, Mauriceville Church of Christ, Old First Orange Baptist and our singers from 1st Baptist Church Bridge City. It was a night of singing old gospel songs that have stood the test of time.

The scripture above reminded me that, as we sang, we were actually speaking to each other from our hearts through these songs. We were reminding each other of what Christ did for us on that cross. We were encouraging each other that God will hold us in His hands while we go through the storms of life. We were reminding each other of what is coming for us when our life here on earth is done, a home with the Lord in heaven and in that heavenly home we will see some of the same faces we sang with last night.

Also, even as we encouraged each other, it will help us be strengthened to go out and do what the Lord has told us to do in Mark 16:15, “…go into all the world and preach the gospel to all creation.”

I am thankful for the freedom to gather and worship our Lord.
“Loving God, loving each other, making music with my friends
Loving God, loving each other, and the story never ends”.

Now, let’s go out and tell the world of Jesus and His saving grace.
