MUSIC MINISTRY TEAM MEETING SCHEDULED

MUSIC MINISTRY TEAM MEETING SCHEDULED
We have a meeting scheduled for Sunday, February 26, 2023 at 4:00 p.m. in the choir room.  This meeting is for anyone involved in the music ministry or anyone interested in becoming involved.  We have some events planned for 2023 where we will need your help even if you are not part of the music ministry.

We will be discussing the following:

Summer Night of Worship
Sunday, July 30, 2023
This NOW will be a little different from the past as we will be singing as a choir using a Gaither Homecoming Book filled with wonderful southern gospel songs.  There will be opportunities for those who want to sing a solo.  The congregation will also be encouraged to sing along with the choir.  We will discuss more details at the meeting.

The Hoppers (in concert)
Friday, August 18, 2023
We hosted this very popular singing group a few years ago and our sanctuary was filled to the top.  They contacted us about coming back to FBCBC this year.  This type of event requires many people to be involved to make it work.  We will need people at the doors to be greeters.  We will need people throughout the sanctuary to direct anyone to restrooms, etc. throughout the evening.  We will need security.  This is an opportunity for our church to welcome people in from our community and some outside of our community.

CHRISTMAS 2023
We would like to discuss a Christmas Musical/Drama, similar to the one we did for Easter 2022.  This is also an event which takes many dedicated people.  This is an opportunity for anyone in our church to be involved.  We need singers, actors, stage managers, prop managers, make-up artists, costume designers.  Our church is full of these talented people.

God has impressed these ideas on our hearts for our church in 2023.  He has always blessed the efforts of this ministry, not because of the leaders, but because of the hearts of the volunteers who step up and do what God asks them to do.

LET YOUR LIGHT SHINE
All of these events are enjoyable and wonderful to do, but we have to do more than sing and praise the Lord on Sunday mornings.  The sermon this past Sunday spoke to me in a very powerful way. I love to sing and praise the Lord.  But, it can’t stop there.  The hard part is walking out into this world and telling others about Christ and what He did for them.

Lord, help me put feet to the songs I sing.  Help me love others enough to tell them about You.  Help me pray for “the one” you have laid on my heart and help them see Jesus.

For Your glory,
Debbie
