BELT OF TRUTH
BELT OF TRUTH . . .
Ephesians 6:14 “Stand firm then, with the belt of truth buckled around your waist.”
Every Sunday I come away with another “truth” to help me “faith” through my week. I am so grateful that we have a Pastor who is so bold to speak all of the truths from God’s Word.
Truth, we all sin, so none of us can judge another. Not too long ago, I would think of the sins I had given up after I was saved. I had a list in my head of what I thought of as sin and if I could check all of those off my list, then, well, I was doing “good.”
I never thought of myself as a judgmental person, but I thought that if anyone was a Christian, then we should all be able to check off the list of sins I had in my head. But, my list did not include most of the sins listed in the scripture below..
2 Timothy 3: 1-5 “…..lovers of self, lovers of money, proud, arrogant, abusive, disobedient to parents, ungrateful, unholy, heartless, unappeasable, slanderous, without self-control, brutal, not loving good, treacherous, reckless, swollen with conceit, lovers of pleasure rather than lovers of God, having the appearance of godliness, but denying it’s power…….”
Truth, Jesus came to make a way for us to be “washed white as snow”. He took all of these sins and more on Himself. They were nailed to the cross with Him. When we accept this free gift of salvation from God, (Psalms 103:12) “…..as far as the east is from the west, so far has he removed our transgressions from us.” and He thinks of them no more. They are not held against us, because of the blood of Jesus”
Thank you Jesus for the blood applied
Thank you Jesus, it has washed me white
Thank you Jesus, You have saved my life
Brought me from the darkness into glorious light
Truth, God created us in His image, therefore, we are “image-bearers”. If we belong to Christ, we are to strive to be like Him. He knows our weaknesses and that is why He went to the cross. Thank you Lord for Your indescribable gift!
For His glory,
Debbie
