AND ON THAT DAY

AND ON THAT DAY . . .
We join the resurrection
And stand beside the heroes of the faith
With one voice a thousand generations
Sing, Worthy is the Lamb Who was slain

We sang Hymn of Heaven this past Sunday and it spoke to many of us.  It’s not a new song to many, but it was the first time we led it at FBCBC.  I love how God chooses the perfect time for a new song to be introduced in our worship service.  I love how God points us to the songs He wants us to lead each worship service, old or new, hymn or contemporary praise.  We are learning to pray and seek God’s direction, whether it be from our Pastor’s Scripture text or being reminded in a sermon of the direction our church is going at this time. There are times we are led by someone mentioning a particular song that they like.  Sometimes we lead it immediately and there are times we wait.  We were given Hymn of Heaven a year ago and the perfect time to lead was this past Sunday.

The sermon this past week was from Joshua 14 about the faith of Caleb.  He didn’t take the easy road.  He took the road with “the giants.” I don’t know if I would have chose the hard road like Caleb did.  I do know the hard road has brought me to a place I would not have been had it not been for the challenges.  It leads you to a place where your only option is to trust God and that He will make everything happen in His will and in His time.

I love the verse mentioned above from the song, where we will stand beside all the heroes of the faith we’ve read about in the Bible. The fact that we will sing as with one voice with all of these and all the believers from the past, present and future.

So, let it be today we shout the hymn of heaven
With angels and the saints we raise a mighty roar
Glory to our God, Who gave us life beyond the grave
Holy, Holy is the Lord.

For His Glory,
Debbie
