The Pumpkin Patch has come and gone.  It was a HUGE success.  When I say success I mean a success in the way that it ministered to our community.  I cannot even count how many times I heard someone say, “Thank y’all for having this.” I saw people picnicking in the Patch. Children playing games.  I saw families come out and stay for well over an hour while the kids played and just enjoyed being in the pumpkins.  People were invited to church and given a handout that had Facts about Pumpkins and Facts about FBC. We gave away Bibles. It was a success.  We sold over $26,000 worth of Pumpkins.  For all of you who were wondering, we sold every last one. Our take on the $26,000 is a little over $9100.  That does not include money that was just simply given as a donation or when they told us to keep the change.  When you add that in I’m sure we made well over $10,000 that will go towards missions.  Be prepared for next year.  The Pumpkin Patch will only grow each year.

By the time you read this newsletter the votes will have been cast for our next President.  The results may be in doubt but the election will be over.  It is time for the church to get back on the ground. It is time for FBC to start being the body of Christ here in Bridge City again. Maybe we have to do things a little differently. That’s ok. Maybe we have to be more careful in what we do. That’s ok. We just have to do something.  We have a community that needs the ministry that we have to offer.

Thank you to everyone that brought chips, drinks and diapers.  I delivered them last Friday. We fed over 400 people and handed out countless supplies including the diapers. Thank you all for your generosity. Continue to pray for the Lake Charles area. They still have a lot of work to do.

We are going to miss Chris Bailey and her family here at FBC.  However, God has something in store for us too.  In case you haven’t noticed God is working in our church.  New people are coming. New faces are getting involved. God will provide exactly what we need to be, who He wants us to be and to do what He wants us to do.

God bless you all. Please pray for our sick. Ask God to heal them.
Love you all
