Pastor's Paragraph, 5/1/2018
Dear Church Family,
This past weekend 10 guys from FBCBC as a part of the Men’s Bible Study were on a houseboat in the Atchafalaya Swamp. Close quarters and a unique environment allowed us to be challenged, fellowship, and learn together. We had five study sessions geared for and directed to a man’s heart. The subject was tough, but God’s grace and provision was more than sufficient. I am honored to know these men and serve with these men as we together seek to follow Christ faithfully. If you haven’t been yet, join us for Bible Study on Sunday mornings.
Sunday nights we have together pinpointed our purpose as Connecting Christ with People and two of the means of fulfilling our purpose, Connect: The Who? and Celebrate: The What? This Sunday we will have our last session together combining Contribute: The How?/Invite 3: The Where? Every person matters and every person can contribute in helping fulfill our purpose of Connecting Christ with People.
Sunday morning we will return to our sermon series “Tell Me a Story” by looking at the Parable of the Good Samaritan. Jesus is posed a question from a lawyer looking to earn eternal life. Jesus asked him to share his knowledge of the Law which he did perfectly. Jesus then tells the story of the Good Samaritan to demonstrate the area where people most often fail. Knowledge is necessary, but application of the knowledge is crucial. Knowing what to do is not the same thing as doing it. Jesus stuns the people by declaring the one who does the action is the one who makes a difference. Are you a difference maker?
FBCBC is where the “impossible” is a living reality every day and Connecting Christ with People is Our Purpose. Invite 3 people to Connect, Celebrate, and Contribute by being a part of what God is doing at FBCBC.
For His Glory,
